The Leaders Talk
The Leaders Talk (TLT) is a platform that aims to cultivate trust between Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Government Inter-Agencies(GIAs) in Uganda by creating diplomacy-centered, CSO-led engagement spaces.
The Leaders Talk is founded on the belief that cultivating trust and diplomacy-centered negotiation skills among CSOs and GIAs can establish a platform for constructive collaboration and strongly reinforce a sustainable operating environment for CSOs in Uganda.
The Securitization of Civic Space Survey
Securitization—the framing of various issues as security threats. Securitization is a speech act. It has become a tool for governments to justify the suppression of civic space, often under the pretext of counterterrorism and national security.
Despite its critical implications, there is limited discourse on how securitization is misused to curtail civil liberties and suppress dissent. This study aimed to explore the securitization of civic space across the six countries; Uganda, Mozambique, Eswatini,Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe to examine emerging trends, patterns, and the broader impact on civil society, providing valuable insights into this complex and evolving issue.
National NPO Regulatory Authorities Survey
This survey was informed by an ethos of trust, recognizing the need to address the shortcomings of previous and ongoing regulatory measures that have often been implemented with a punitive approach. Consequently, compliance has been driven more by fear of repercussions than by a genuine commitment to doing the right thing.
The hypothesis of the study posited that there are strong linkages between trust and compliance: the more the regulated entities trust the regulator, the more they tend to voluntarily comply.
