NPOs-Regulators Connect (NRC)

NPOs–Regulators Connect (NRC) is an initiative of the Civic Advisory Hub (CAH) designed to foster dialogue, collaboration, and innovation between non-profit organizations (NPOs) and their regulatory authorities. Its core aim is strengthening sector governance through constructive engagement and mutual understanding. NRC's goal is anchored on in-depth understanding of the risks of abuse of the non-profit sector for terrorism financing purposes, building their capacity to mitigate these risks through preventive measures and partnering for solutions as a collective. The NRC model has proven successful across several African countries notably Uganda, where it originated under the name Talk to Your Regulator. It has since been adapted and launched in Zimbabwe, Kenya, Botswana and South Sudan demonstrating its relevance and flexibility across national contexts.
